Portable Protection

Unless you're really keen, you won't always have a First Aid Kit handy.

During my training the instructor gave a useful hint: get a keyring pouch, designed to hold a CPR face shield. He observed that you could also put a pair of gloves into it.

Shortly after my boss asked if I had a face sheild. “No”, I replied, “I have THREE”! “Where?” In the first aid kit in my car . . .

“So you don't have one on your person? I always carry one.”

Duly chastened, I ordered a couple of the pouches.

As soon as I had, Saint John's Ambulance put up a special offer on
their Personal Protection Kit. Typical!

The offer has ended now, but basically you get the pouch, a sheild, gloves and a handy 'reminder' card. Perfect, if a little late for me.
[And, oddly, at the time cheaper than buying the empty pouch!]
They are still less than £4.

The Face Shield Keyring

This is a much smaller pocket-friendly pouch. Actually, it's so small I
had some doubts about getting the gloves in:

But it turns out they will (just about) fit, especially if you're a bit
slapdash on the velcro overlap:

Whether they'll come out again in a hurry remains to be seen.

So, when you're buying or re-stocking your first aid kit, you can supplement it with a pocketable extra for under three quid.
